WASHINGTON D.C. PARKING EXPO1000 IS SMASHING SUCCESS!!!

If you missed the Parking Expo1000 event this past month in Washington D.C. you missed a good one!! We had about 60 attendees.

Robin Blair managing director of the Los Angeles MTA was the keynote speaker of the year with an in-depth presentation on the trials and tribulations of managing thousands parking spaces and hundreds off street facilities. It was an interesting and educational experience. Thank you Robin!!

Then the finale of the year (so far). An in depth (and I mean 40 feet below street level) tour of the nations newest automated parking garage built by the SpaceSaver Parking Company of Chicago. This was something to see!!

Our co-host for the Washington Expo event Jackie Smith of the SpaceSaver Parking Company let more than 40 of the more adventurous attendees down into the very heart of the automated parking structure.

We were all able to see exactly how SpaceSaver took a 4,000 square foot area, excavated about 40 feet straight down and made room for the automated equipment to lower and store 74 automobiles below the surface. This has to be a part of the future face of parking . . . It's hi-tech and very sexy! If you missed it . . . call Jackie (check the SpacerSaver listing) and perhaps she can arrange a personal tour. You won't be disappointed.

Several Parking Expo1000 members made presentations on their products. While some of them did act up a little, (humor is encouraged), none of them actually made fools of themselves! Oh well . . . maybe next time!!

Anyway . . . we had a G R E A T time. If you missed it . . . plan to attend the next Parking Expo1000 in the exciting Los Angeles area (information available here soon).

National Intelligent Traffic Systems

The rules have changed

The Its delineator was developed as a safe and easy way to redirect traffic, especially where repetitive changes in lane usage or traffic flow patterns are required. Typical applications include toll collection lanes, weight stations, parking lots, tunnel and bridge entrances, railroad crossings, HOV lanes and reversible lanes.

This amazing new structure eliminates crew exposure to hazardous situations during traffic flow changes. The Itsdelineator eliminates an unsafe situation for workers while placing pylons, drums or vertical panels.

A detector module identifies the presence of a vehicle as it enters a predetermined photographic zone and sends a pulse to a camera module. A picture of the vehicle license plate is taken and sent to a controller module for processing. A frame grabber card freezes and digitizes the acquired picture and the license plate characters are identified by Zamir's proprietary LPR software.
