Your inquiry didn't say if you were refurbishing mechanical or electronic parking meters. Currently, mechanical parking meters are almost impossible to refurbish due to a lack of parts--manufacturer's of both POM & Duncan are getting out of the business of mechanical parking. I'm sure that you can still buy mechanical Duncan parking meters that have been refurbished (or at least you could two years ago), but will they be able to support you with repair parts? Our cost analysis led us to do a replacement program of almost 4000 mechanical parking meters and convert them to electronic. We are in the process of doing that now. Simply put, most of our meters were at least 25 years old, were getting repair part intensive and both POM and Duncan told us that mechanical parts are getting scarce and will become more so into the future.
